What Choice do I Have?
to be chosen.
With regard to the
present electoral situation in America, the phrase, Heads, I win; tails, you
lose. seems sinisterly appropriate. With the evils growing immensely, and the
choices becoming almost identical, one may wonder, What, in the name of
goodness, has happened to America? Goodness, unfortunately, has nothing to do with
it; voters are being presented with a no-win situation.
Barack Obama, the Democrats multi-cultural candidate, makes sane
Americans shudder. An observant person pointed out that this poster-child, who supposedly
champions the redress of all the wrongs of minority groups and African Americans,
is actually of Arab descent. It just happens to be a historical fact that
the Arab nations were zealous slave traders. While this party puppet is clearly at his
handlers beck and call, he has also taken the initiative to vote for bills that,
ultimately, permit the murder - by neglect- of newborn infants. Of course, when word got
out about that, he quickly covered his tracks with an I love everybody, and
Im going to make everyone happy. press statement. Those who think twice
about his bread-and-circus philosophy know that someone will have to pay the bills.
Obamas agenda for the U.S. is brutally clear to anyone who isnt too busy
watching TV to have an original thought.
The liberals have covered
all their bases though. Just in case Americans show some common sense and vote against
Obama, liberals have provided a safe alternative; enter, John McCain. Though
the news media is making sure his public image doesnt look too good, liberals
congratulate themselves on having the outcome of the election in their pockets; if
soft-soaping wont win it, double-dealing will. What else is it when a crook
and a chameleon with the same underlying philosophies are both running for the same
office?
A third, mostly
unpromising alternative is to vote for an independent candidate. There are a few good
choices out there;
1

voting for one of them will provide
excitement and uncertainty
and not much else. Optimistic idealists may salve their
consciences by voting this way but realists will quickly point that desperate
self-sacrifice usually doesnt win the day--though it may .
Responsible
Americans face a truly perplexing choice; though personal discretion must be exercised in
casting a vote, a Christian certainly should seek heavenly wisdom. (God probably has an
answer--something along the lines of Second Coming.) Perhaps, too, some of the
responsibility lies on Christian shoulders. As the church has become more and more part of
the world, the Christian witness has waned. Only Gods word provides a solution.
Redeeming the time, for the days are evil.
