SWAT REPORT # 135 12-7-09
Act 17:1 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to
Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:
Act 17:2 And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three
sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,
Act 17:3 Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from
the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.
BULL'S-EYE
Last summer my partner, Bro. Logan, and I sat drinking coffee in Thessalonica, Greece and
discussed how Paul, a former Jew, went into the synagogues and tried to reason with them
to trust Christ. We thought about our mission field and how that the entire population is
Greek Orthodox and if we are ever going to make an impact upon Romania for the Lord Jesus
Christ we are going to have to reach the Orthodox people. We then recalled, unlike Paul
with Judaism, how UN-Orthodox that we both are
that is, both of us have a long
history of being Bible believers
there is not one Orthodox fiber in our bodies. This
factor, along with our being American would therefore disqualify us from ever being
accepted with the Orthodox community. We both began to desire that our men, most of whom
have some Orthodox background, be taught and encouraged to grow to the level where they
could do what Paul did. We provide both the example as well as the educational tools
whereby they may feel confident
as Paul did. We began to aim in that direction
BULL'S-EYE Last week Adrian, one of our Bible institute students (soon to be graduate) was
visiting relatives in another city and was passing out tracts when an Orthodox priest came
by and accused him of proselyting. Adrian discussed a few things with him, got his email,
then the priest invited him to church the next day. Adrian passed out tracts in front of
the church until the priest got finished in the "holy place" and had the
opportunity to spend 3 hours that afternoon with the priest discussing spiritual matter.
Gloriosky
Hallelujer
Amen Amen
This is what we have been aiming at and now
we are making a mark.
ANOTHER BULL'S-EYE (AN ALL ROMANIAN STREET MEETING)
Several years ago several of our supporters supplied a large 9-passenger diesel van for
us. We have used this van to the max. We put 21 gypsies in it on one occasion
we have
moved everything you can imagine in it and use it for a church bus every Sunday. Dec. 1
was a national holiday here in Romania and all the young people were off from school and
work. They wanted to make a trip to Sibiu, a very nice historical place a couple of hours
from Brasov. They took the van, had their day
BUT
all on their own they had
their first and very own street meeting. They played the accordion, sang, passed tracts
and all the guys in Photo SR135.01 preached the gospel of Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord my
partner and I are true missionaries
working ourselves out of a job. Please pray for a
young (17) girl by the name of Loraina who is on the left in Photo 135.02. She went with
this young people's group and went on her first street meeting and loved it. She is saved
and came to our church as a result of our Sinpetru meeting two months ago. She comes to
church whenever her Orthodox parents allow her. She loves our church very much. The other
lady in the photo with her is Mary Moisuc who is married to Cornel. They head up our
college and young people's group and were in charge of this Sibiu trip.

If you can read the sentence above and NOT start singing the tune
you are not very
old. This was a popular song from the 50's. I used this to introduce our latest trip to
France. In Photo 135.03 you will see the Logans and the Suteks on a street meeting in
Paris on one of the most famous streets in the world
the Champs Elyseé. The two
families made a get-a-way trip via very cheap airline tickets
and spent our American
Thanksgiving holiday in France. We saw some nice things in France but when we visited the
American cemetery in Normandy where nearly 10,000 Americans are buried as a result of
their effort on D-Day in 1944 we were reminded of "Eternity Where?" There are
many missionaries in Europe but we know of none who minister in these huge metropolises
and make any attempt to reach these inner-city souls on their way to "Eternity
Where?" Photo 134.04 shows the preaching that we did just yards from the Arc de
Triomphe where Hitler (full of pride) marched his troops in a pride filled victory march
through Paris. Soon, the Lord Jesus Christ will have his victory march through the world
and every knee shall bow
but until then these huddled masses need to hear the simple
plan of salvation so that they may escape eternity in a graveyard and hell. AMEN! AMEN!
AMEN! AMEN!
